When dirt hit the south this past weekend, Mythical was there
The Mythical gals (sans one pretty lady) closed out their Friday night lineup at the Dirty South Improv Fest this past weekend. We lost a blazer but we gained so much more. Here are the dirty takeaways:
- Using the Southern accent in the South works as long as you are making fun of a place that is further south than where you are currently performing.
- Tallahassee and Tennessee are not the same place.
- Parns and Karin made me pee in my pants a little, which led to some pretty blotching
- Griffins are more than just eagle + lion with snake tail. They have families with concerned parents and that one weird uncle who robs banks.
The show was super duper fun! Thanks to DSI for being fabulous hosts. Stay tuned to see where Mythical breaks the news (and the wind) next!
Frederick (Maryland) Police: 10000000, Mythical Newsroom: 0
Half of the esteemed group Mythical Newsroom just performed a show in Frederick, Murryland last Thursday. It was way fun, and the other groups (White Phosphorus and Blue Bunny) were fantastic performers and cohorts, and all were in it for a good time.
I wish I could say the same for the events that transpired after the show. For a long bloggy epic tale of high adventure on the back roads, tune in live here. All the professional reporting you’ve come to expect plus a gallon of subjective raw emotion!
Report back from Boston Improv Fest
Hello,
Karin here. Reporting back from Boston Improv Fest.
1. People were nice.
2. It rained a shitload ton.
3. I only laughed once while on stage, and it was totes Aparna’s fault.
4. We have a show up in New York City on Sept 26. I am pretty stoked about it.
